Our Mission

At kennek, we’re on a mission to modernise the $2 trillion private lending industry.

We’re determined to help lenders digitise their business and automate their operations with the lending toolkit of the future: a vertical SaaS for all types of lenders. By doing so, we revolutionise the sector at its core and we create efficiencies for lenders and also for borrowers, credit investors and ultimately for the entire eco-system.

We launched in the summer of 2021 and have since grown our team to over 25 kennekters, mostly in London. Our customer base is expanding rapidly & we’ve got some world-class venture capital investors backing us.

Background

For the past decades, increasing regulatory pressures on banks have reduced their lending to the real economy, especially to small & medium sized enterprises (SMEs).

Many ‘non-bank lenders’ such as peer to peer platforms, specialist lending companies and credit funds have filled the void. However, most of these lenders operate in an old-fashioned way. Data is not connected or centralised. Workflows are manual and usually time-consuming, costly and prone to human error.

This is where kennek comes in.

We’ve created a vertically integrated SaaS that streamlines and automates operations of lenders, bringing together all the lending calculations, operations and workflows onto a single user-friendly platform.

The kennek systems captures all the data relating to the loans and borrowers and serves as single point of truth for the lenders and ultimately for the entire eco-system.

What the job involves

• Working in a team of engineers to deliver a great SaaS product to our customers
• Leading projects and mentoring other engineers
• Building new functionality as well as maintaining and improving our existing codebase
• Integrating with frontend applications, backend APIs, or sometimes both as full-stack.
• Contributing to code reviews, ensuring the codebase is maintainable and scalable
• Resolving blockers and working together as one
  
  

Who You Are

• You are a senior frontend engineer with React experience
• You are familiar with state-of-the-art automated UI testing tools
• You are capable of onboarding and mentoring other engineers
• You can lead projects and break them down into refined pieces of work
• You are not scared of deploying to production - you own your work and know the value of testing
• You raise issues and blockers proactively, and you are not shy of giving or receiving feedback
• Experience with Typescript and NextJS is a plus
• Experience in the financial industry is a plus
• A good understanding of DevOps and CI/CD best practices is a plus
