This is an exciting opportunity for someone to join a highly talented and experienced team working in the rapidly evolving and exciting sustainability data management space. The team is backed by leading European and US VCs and has seen some impressive early traction with their solution, with a client-base that includes mainly publicly listed companies and partnerships with Nasdaq and others. They are now in the process of doubling down on this success to build out a repeatable and scalable direct sales process.
You would be the first sales hire into the team, working directly with the CEO/Founder to help build out the direct sales model, landing new logos and designing/codifying the sales process at the same time.
This is an enterprise SaaS sales process requiring solution selling into multiple stakeholders across both business (eg. Sustainability Manager, Sustainability Director, General Counsel, Financial Planning & Analysis, etc), IT, legal and procurement.
The solution enables large corporates to transform the quality of their sustainability data, in order to meet & exceed regulatory requirements and confidently implement decarbonization / Net Zero plans.
The market for their solution is international and they already have clients across Europe and the USA.
Requirements:
- 3 years minimum experience of hitting/exceeding quota in enterprise SaaS
- Experience of selling software (experience in the sustainability space desirable but not at all compulsory)
- Has a solid grounding in sales methodologies and experience in building out sales motions
- Understands the importance of being adaptable and creative in an early stage business and can evidence this with direct examples
Ideal profile:
- Ideally (but not essential) has been the first sales person into a startup, or the first AE into a new territory
- Whilst Greenhouse Gas Accounting / Reporting experience isn’t essential, anyone joining the sales team will need to be comfortable learning this space in detail, in order to be credible with senior buyers such as Sustainability Managers and Sustainability Directors.
- Is motivated by being a part of building out the sales motion, recognises that a lot of the fundamentals need putting in place- ranging from personas and value propositions through to detailed mapping of the enterprise sales process
- Recognises the opportunity to build out the sales function but understands the need initially to get ‘stuck into’ every part of the sales process from lead generation through to close
